About Belle's Park

“If you have ever seen Bernie put a hand on a horse his whole demeanour changes, he is at one with the horse.”

Belle’s Park has been a name we have wanted to call our business for a long time. When we moved to Hopeland in February 2016 it seemed like the right time to start to put things in motion. We have raced under the Boldline Enterprise Pty Ltd name since the early 2000 and will continue to do so until all the paper work etc required has been completed. Belle’s Park Training & Agistment has had approval by the SJ Shire, Water Corporation, and Agriculture Department to have 57 horses on the property.

We started with one or two young horses bought at sales. Bernie was working long hours in his own business and needed something for him to relax with.

It is such a thrill to watch the races with our owners who once were strangers and are now friends. Throughout the year the owners and families join us for a BBQ and drinks to celebrate the horses and our friendship. A few young horses have not raced and are looking for owners so join our team to have the excitement of watching your horse race.

We welcome pre-trainers and horses to be trained. We are not a large operation the most we will do at a time is 10 so Bernie can give each horse the attention it requires. At the moment we have vacancies.

“We offer a service for your horse to get away from the four walled stable to a rural environment either while racing or when you require the horse to have a spell.”

Horses have a walk in walk out stable of four, fed twice a day with their own paddock or be in a shared paddock no more than four horses and fed once or twice a day at a lower rate. We have paddocks set up if you just want to spell your horse all with good fencing and pasture.

We can provide most services for your horse and Bernie is happy to discuss your horse and its needs at any time.

Meet the Team

Bernie Miller

Owner & Trainer

Bernie has over 45 years experience in the horse industry. His interest in horses started from when he was a child. In his early teens, he spent weekends and school holidays at his Uncles place soaking up as much knowledge as he could. His passion grew which led his father to ask the question at the age of 17, horse or car? There was never any doubt in Bernie’s mind and so the journey began.

He worked for SEC at the time which is now Western Power, helping out in trotting stables after work and weekends. He went for his harness trainers license at 18. He often talks fondly of those days about the people who were willing to teach and the horses he learned many of his skills from.

At the age of 24 he bought a house in Ascot, built stables at the back and went for his thoroughbred trainers license, galloper’s became his passion. The welfare of the horse is without exception at the top of Bernie’s priorities. He continually looks at ways to improve by feed, training, herbs and massage so the horse performs at its peak.

He let his thoroughbred training license go in the mid 90’s to concentrate on his successful business being a preferred vendor for Western Power. When closing the business down in 2007, he took up his training licence again and decided to do it full time. Not only training but also breeding with many of the foals making it to the race track with a number of wins on the board. Cup Night being the most successful.

Bernie has high integrity, knowledge and understanding of horses and will treat your horse as if it is his own. We have stables built for safety and comfort where they can relax in a rural environment.
